Recently I saw a lady and her daughter selling popcorn at about 8 in the morning. The sun was up and it was hot already. They stopped at a house, and asked for some water to drink. I don’t know how much they would sell and how much money the mother and daughter could make that day. Not much is my estimate, in an age where children want processed food and branded packets. I felt very sad for them.
Life is tough, and it is pretty hard on many people. A good part of people have to really struggle and work extremely hard to earn their livelihood. This is the reality of life.
The statistics indicate that about 3000 children die due to hunger on a daily basis. Over 200 million [20 crore] Indians go to sleep empty-stomach every day – hindrise website.
“Each day, 25,000 people, including more than 10,000 children, die from hunger and related causes, world over.” – official UN statistics.
We should be thankful to God if we have some job where we can earn some money. Let us be thankful to the LORD for the food that is available for us to eat.
Let us stop complaining about lack of money and facilities. There are people who sleep on the roadside and in makeshift shanties and temporary sheds. We have nothing to complain about.
Let us be willing to share our resources that God blessed us with, with those who are poor, needy and struggling. Would you?
