June 18, 2022The Word of God consistently speaks with clarity the significance of our heart and the role it plays in the conduct of our lives. The message is clear and unambiguous. All of life boils down to what is in our hearts. The rest of it doesn’t matter much.
Material prosperity has nothing whatsoever to do with the life, living, joy, happiness and harmony. Harmonious life, in reality, is independent of the material possessions one has, and the material and social progress one achieves in life. Only an “ignorant” person who is blind, and values not the true blessings, believes and pursues such perishable things. Sadly we have many such people. Sadly, that is visibly reflected in the families, and the quality of family life today.
The Word of God speaking about human heart says this in Proverbs 4:23-27 – “23 Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.24 Put away from you a deceitful mouth, And put perverse lips far from you.
25 Let your eyes look straight ahead, And your eyelids look right before you.
26 Ponder the path of your feet, And let all your ways be established.
27 Do not turn to the right or the left; Remove your foot from evil.”
It is not how big the house is. It is all about how “big” the hearts of those in the house are, and the values, ethics and principles it desires and upholds. Therefore, let us Guard our hearts with all diligence. Let us be Guided by the values, ethics and the principles proposed in the Word of God.
