When the voice of sanity is shown the door, the next obvious this to happen is that wisdom, prudence, fairness, justice and freedom will jump out of the window. For they cannot exist where the voice of sanity is crumpled, crushed and disregarded.
Sadly, when we see the world, the voice of sanity is slowly, steadily and surely is being shown the door. The consequences are all too obvious…
– We are becoming a people where emotions and feelings seem to run the show, and not the process of observation, analysis and conclusion, soundly based reason.
– Secondly, the popular thinking is, “Whatever they are thinking is right, and what others are thinking is wrong.” There is no room for any error. If any error, there is no rectification, let alone an apology.
– Thirdly, in the name of “freedom” the contrary voice to the popular narrative is often forcefully drowned out.
The testimony recorded about Sodom in Genesis 13:13 – “13 But the men of Sodom were exceedingly wicked and sinful against the LORD.” – and the incident recorded in Genesis 19:4-5, is a fine example of the missing voice of sanity” and “depravity” of a people devoid of all decency and decorum.
May the LORD help us keep our sanity, and give us the courage to walk this path, even if it means walking alone. May the LORD help us.
"23 Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life. 24 Put away from you a deceitful mouth, And put perverse lips far from you. 25 Let your eyes look straight ahead, And your eyelids look right before you. 26 Ponder the path of your feet, And let all your ways be established. 27 Do not turn to the right or the left; Remove your foot from evil."
