Here is something that I have learnt over these years about “DOING GOOD.” Hope it will be of use, especially to some young person. The Word of God speaks quite clearly on the subject, “ALWAYS DOING GOOD” for our edification.
ALWAYS DO GOOD
Matthew 5:16 – “16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Galatians 6:9-10 – “9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.”
2 Thessalonians 3:13 – “13 But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary in doing good.”
Titus 3:8 – “8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I want you to affirm constantly, that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men.”
1 Peter 2:12 – “12 having your conduct honourable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation.
James 2:14,17,26 – “14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?…17…faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead…26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”
Doing good or good works is very important from a Christian’s point of view, no matter the obstacles and struggles. There are no two opinions about it.
Works don’t earn us any merit in the sight of the LORD, in regards to our salvation. However, they surely are a reflection of our changed status, and our ongoing transformation. Hence, it is important for us to bear the fruit of “Good Works” as a sign of our change, and our growth.
"Scripture is clear that if we're growing in our relationship with God, we will produce spiritual fruit. The stronger we grow in our walk, the more fruit we'll produce. There is a direct correlation."
