The needs one has in life, are never ending. They just keep adding on. In the midst of all this melee, we tend to forget all that we have received. Such a situation is common to most of us. However, it is good and appropriate to focus our hearts and minds on what we have, and not so much, and solely on what we need.
The Psalmist has the same outlook towards life, living and our attitude towards the LORD our Creator and Provider. Psalm 100 which is rightly titled “A PSALM OF PRAISE” has these words for us in verses 1-5…
“1 Make a JOYFUL noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
2 Serve the LORD with GLADNESS: come before his presence with SINGING.
4 Enter into his gates with THANKSGIVING, and into his courts with PRAISE:
be THANKFUL unto him, and BLESS his name.”
The above verses can be summed up as – let us make JOYFUL noise with GLADNESS and SINGING, as we ENTER His gates with THANKSGIVING, PRAISE, and with a GRATEFUL heart.
Let us make praise and thanksgiving our focus because we are grateful to the LORD for all His provision. When we begin to do that, strangely, all our needs, all of a sudden, don’t seem to be all that important anymore. HalleluYah!
"When we choose thankful prayer over wallowing in anxiety and worry, we are demonstrating an unwavering trust in God."
