PRECIOUS, PRICELESS and INDESCRIBABLE

The Bible talks about our rightful earnings, or wages to be precise, in Romans 6:23 – “For the wages of sin is death; but the GIFT OF GOD is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” This is in fact a continuation of Romans 3:22b-23 – “…for there is no difference: 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”

However, what was a lost case, the LORD Jesus out of His love for us did the most unthinkable – “6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:6-8

What we rightfully earned is utter destruction and eternal death. The LORD gave us something, which is not only precious, but is also priceless – “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the GIFT OF GOD: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” – Ephesians 2:8-9

May we realise our true status, and be ever so thankful to the LORD for His precious, priceless and indescribable gift.
