Life that a Christian lives is double gift from our Creator. He not only created us, but has given us a new life by redeeming us. Therefore, our Creator is also our LORD, and hence, He owns us twice.
Three young men, in the prime of their lives, bright and brilliant, who could have had a great future in the world, chose to live their lives for their LORD and Redeemer, as missionaries to a tribe in Ecuador. Jim Elliot, Nate Saint, Roger Youderian, Ed McCully, and Pete Fleming were killed by Ecuadorean Indians they sought to evangelise, in the very first encounter, on 8th January 1956. The story of the missionaries and their deaths along the Curaray River was published as a book, by Elliot’s widow, Elisabeth, in “Through Gates of Splendour.”
What are we giving to our LORD, to whom we owe so much? A question to ponder.
"He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose."
