The Christian life that we are called to live is, not only difficult to live, but it is impossible to live on our own. So what do we do? How can we live a life that we are called to? How can we live the Christian life?
Paul writing to the believers in Galatians 2:20, says something that will surely help us – ’20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
Paul expounds the same theme in Romans 8:10-11 – “10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”
The LORD, through His Word, is encouraging us to know that, we on our own cannot live this life. However, we can by His grace and help. It is a process, and we ought to firmly place our trust in God, exercise patience and persevere no matter what.
Therefore, let us seek the LORD, and lean upon Him, His Word and upon His Spirit that we may live by His strength, and be the salt and light, and His witnesses and ambassadors. Let us make this the sole ambition of our lives.
"I can’t live the Christian life alone. I’m a failure. Billy Graham cannot live the Christian life. I’ve tried. I can’t do it. But with the help of the Word of God and the help of the Holy Spirit, I can live the Christian life. But He lives it through me."
