One of the most common thing about life and living is, our disagreements. It is not so much the disagreement itself, but the reason for it. J. C. Ryle observes that “Two-thirds of all the strifes, quarrels and lawsuits in the world arise from one single cause – money!”
Many a wiseman had said, money matters have to be handled carefully and wisely, if not, it can drive a wedge, even between the closest of friends and family. Such is the power that money wields. It can fascinate and influence us so much, that its powerful grip over us can hold many a man in rapt attention, and make us do strange and crazy things, if one is not careful.
The Bible says, “10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honour giving preference to one another;…14 Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord:…18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men…21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” – Hebrews 12:10,14,18,21.
Let us, as the children of God, learn to use money wisely. Let us not be the reason for breakdown of relationships, that too, because of money. If need be, let us give up our rights, in the interest of peace, and move on. Money, if lost, can be earned again. Therefore, let us walk the higher path, the path our LORD has called us to.
"A wise person should have money in their head, but not in their heart."
