Every day we live, is a miracle of million things. We not only ought to recognise this, but also, be grateful and thankful to God for all His goodness and grace. This is how I see it – Gratitude is an expression of all that the heart feels, about all what the mind is thinking about. Our gratitude reflects our thinking and our attitude, towards everything in life. Though man claims to achieve a lot, often we tend to forget that, it is never an individual’s efforts alone. For anyone to succeed, there always are many people, who must have contributed for their success…with God at the forefront…always. The quicker we realise and recognise this, the better it is for us.
Life and all the good that happens in it, is possible, only because of the LORD God Almighty. For example, if our Creator doesn’t graciously protect us, and extend our life, we cannot see another day. Much more than that, the LORD, graciously blesses us with so many things, that help us live and succeed in life.
Therefore, the LORD should be the first on our ‘Gratitude List.’ King David, is a fine example of being grateful and thankful to the LORD. Writing in Psalms 145:1-3, David says, “1 I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever.
2 Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever.
3 Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.”
May gratefulness and thankfulness be visible to the world around us. May it be, what we do the most in our lives. May gratitude and thanks freely flow, and overflow, as we journey through this life.
"We need to discover all over again that worship is natural to the Christian, as it was to the godly Israelites who wrote the psalms, and that the habit of celebrating the greatness and graciousness of God yields an endless flow of thankfulness, joy, and zeal."
