It is always good remember to be grateful and thankful to everyone who has helped us on this journey called life. It goes without saying to be grateful and thankful to the LORD God Almighty, our Creator at all times, and in all circumstances.
To remember the human acts of kindness, however small and insignificant it may be, is a reflection of who we are, and not so much about the other person, and the help we have received from them.
David shows kindness to Mephibosheth in memory of his friend Jonathan, and their friendship. The incident is recorded in 2 Samuel 9:1-13. The chapter 9 begins thus, “1 Now David said, “Is there still anyone who is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?” Then David decides this, “10…Mephibosheth your master’s son shall eat bread at my table always.” [2 Samuel 9:10] and the chapter 9 ends with…*”13 So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem, for he ate continually at the king’s table…” – 2 Samuel 9:13.
As the children of the Most God, let us always be grateful and thankful to the LORD, and to all, who helped us in our lives.
"The thankful heart sees the best part of every situation. It sees problems and weaknesses as opportunities, struggles as refining tools, and sinners as saints in progress."
