The Bible is a written record of God’s goodness, grace and mercy, apart from His great and mighty acts. They are written down, not only as examples, for us to know about Him, but also as a pointer for us, to come to Him, and to seek and obey Him. The knowledge of God, if it doesn’t prompt us to acknowledge Him as Sovereign, and compel us to thank and worship Him, then, our knowledge has no worth whatsoever. May be, it is not knowledge of the Holy One at all, in the first place.
David, who had good knowledge about God, has these words to say in 1 Chronicles 16:34 – “34 Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.” David know God very well, and openly acknowledged the same.
What is our song today? What are our thoughts about the LORD? What words are flowing our of our lips? Do praise, worship and thanksgiving form the foundations of our heart? Are the thoughts of gratitude in our mind towards our Creator and Redeemer? The LORD is good, and He, and He alone deserves, all our praise, worship and thanksgiving. May the LORD help us to do so.
"We learn to praise God not by paying compliments, but by paying attention."
