On our own, to live for God, will be a struggle and burdensome. We, not only have to contend with our own struggles and shortcomings, but also the ones that the world throws at us; this, apart from the enemy of Christians. What we face in life, is not peculiar to us alone, but is the case with, every Christian, who desires to walk with the LORD.
David, writing about struggles and storms in his life, comes to this conclusion – “22 Cast your burden on the LORD, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.” – Psalm 55:22.
If we read Psalm 55:1-6, we see the seriousness of the struggles David is facing. His prayer to the LORD reveals, the depth of his anguish and the pain. The point to note, is not so much the pain and the anguish itself, but rather, the source of David’s comfort and strength. David turns to YAHWEH, for his comfort and strength. Therefore, David confidently casts his trouble and his burden into the LORD. For David knows as a certainty, that God will strengthen and sustain him.
Prophet Isaiah also affirms the same in Isaiah 40:29-31 – “29 He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall,
31 But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.”
Whatever it may be, that is troubling us, let us turn to God, and wait upon Him for our comfort, strength and sustenance. Let us confess our sin, if any, and seek the LORD earnestly. God is our sure help. He will be gracious towards us, because, He surely cares for us.
"God gives strength to the weary so don’t grow faint in doing good for God. We must wait for His timing and not strike out on our own, and then and only then can God renew our strength and we can “run and not be weary” and “walk and not faint."
