The creation account has an interesting fact in it. The first time ever, the Bible mentions the word ‘need,’ when God said, “18…“It is not good that man should be alone…” and then the LORD backs it up by an action point – “…I will make him an help meet [fit or comparable] for him.” – Genesis 2:18.
The need for a meaningful and purposeful relationship is built into us, by our Creator. It is good, and is much needed. Such a need is intended to enrich and empower us. We are to do the same, to the other person, who wishes to share a relationship with us. It is both good, and mutual, as much as it is reciprocal.
Relationships are designed to be built on friendship and companionship. The biblical understanding of any relationship, is that of, Unconditional LOVE, Unasked FORGIVENESS and Unselfish SACRIFICE. There is no greater example of how this works, than the LORD God Almighty, working to restore our broken relationship, through Jesus Christ, our Redeemer.
May the LORD help us to walk in the pathway that our LORD had shown us.
"This is what makes Christianity unique — the God we worship wants a personal relationship with us! Christianity isn’t about a bunch of rules, it’s about a relationship with our Creator and with each other. And only Jesus can enable this to happen, redeeming us and restoring what God intended."
