The LORD God Almighty, the God of creation, is good, gracious, and merciful. He will take care of everything, that concerns us. We do not need to worry about anything. Yes, we may have anxious moments. Yes, we may have to go through tough times. Yes, we may have to endure difficult and painful times. However, those who seek shelter under the wings of YAHWEH, will surely find help, comfort and safety. He will never abandon His people – Psalm 91
The prophet Isaiah, writes for us, some very significant words in Isaiah 40:27-31.
1- Many times when we are going through tough times, we feel that we are all alone, and fighting our battles on our own. Also, we may feel, as if, all have abandoned us, especially the LORD. This is precisely addressed in verse 27 with a pointed question – 27 Why do you say, O Jacob, And speak, O Israel: “My way is hidden from the LORD, And my just claim is passed over by my God”?”
2- The verse 28 explains to us, again with a pointed question, that the LORD God of the Bible, is someone, who knows everything, and with His omni qualities, surely cares for us – “28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable.”
3- The key to overcoming our struggles is clearly laid out in verses 29-31. God gives us the required strength, and expects us, to stand by faith, and face our struggles and storms in His strength. “29 He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, 31 But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.” – Isaiah 40:27-31
Whatever it is, that is troubling us, let us never get discouraged, and never lose hope. The LORD will not abandon us, neither will He leave us to fend for ourselves. There is help and hope available for us, in the LORD. Let us always remember the question posed by Isaiah – “27 Why do you say, O Jacob, And speak, O Israel: “My way is hidden from the LORD, And my just claim is passed over by my God”?”
Therefore, in the midst of all that is troubling us, firstly, let us learn to take it to the LORD. Secondly, we should learn to have steadfast faith in the LORD’s goodness and grace, to help us through. Lastly, trusting our loving and caring God, we ought to move forward as obedient child of God. The rest will be taken care of, by the LORD, and He will work all things for our good – Romans 8:28. The LORD never abandons His people!
