How is life going on for you? What is happening in your life? Is everything going well for you? These are some of the normal questions we ask each other. It is out of concern for each other, and our well-being, that we ask such questions.
David, the Psalmist wants us to know that the LORD, who is our Creator, and also our Redeemer, is interested in our lives, our struggles and our well-being. The Bible is full of such examples of God’s concern for us and and our well-being. One such example is Psalm 9:9-10…
“9 The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, A refuge in times of trouble.
10 And those who know Your name will put their trust in You;
For You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.” – Psalm 9:9-10
How wonderful and comforting it is to know that the LORD God Almighty, cares for the finite and fragile beings like us. The LORD desires to be…
1- A refuge to all who are oppressed.
2- A shelter from the storms.
3- A sure help, who will not forsake, nor abandon those, who seek Him.
Do we know Him? If so, how much do we know about God? Knowing God is not simply knowing the name. It goes much much deeper than that. It is an ongoing process, of getting to know the person of God. It is a process where quality time, and sincere effort is required. Are we taking time to know our LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ? It is worth every penny. Let us not neglect it. The Bible is the primary and the best source of all that is to know about God. Why wait?
"Men complain of their little faith: the remedy is in their own hands; let them set themselves to know God…. But for all this, you must make time. You cannot know a friend from hurried interviews, much less God. So you must steep yourself in deep, long thoughts of his nearness and his love."
