The LORD asked prophet Isaiah, a question in Isaiah 6:8…
– “8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”God is asking us, through this text, who will be His representative, and His ambassador, to speak to the people, what the LORD commands.
Would we be responding, “Here am I! Send me.” just like the prophet Isaiah? This is a critical question, and our response would indicate, a whole lot of things about us, and our priorities in life.
– “18 But they all with one accord began to make excuses. The first said to him, ‘I have bought a piece of ground, and I must go and see it. I ask you to have me excused.’ 19 And another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to test them. I ask you to have me excused.’ 20 Still another said, ‘I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.’” – Luke 14:18-20
May the LORD help us to be His true witnesses. May we always desire to live for God, who gave us His life, when we were dead, so that we could live, a true and full life.
– “6 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. 10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.” – Romans 5:6-10
Even so, the LORD help us, to live for Him and Him alone.
"He became what we are that we might become what he is."
