Man is intelligent, and can grasp things, and how they work. Man has the capacity to know and understand things around himself. Man has the ability and the insight, to explain, how things work. Man has the capacity to create things, and improve upon it. Despite all such amazing traits of human beings, we still are finite and limited, in all things.
– “15 As for man, his days are like grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourishes. 16 For the wind passes over it, and it is gone, And its place remembers it no more.” – Psalms 103:15-16
On the other hand, the LORD God is truly Almighty. He created everything by His word, and sustains it by His strength. *Oh the greatness of God, so unfathomable…so awesome…absolutely…He is Almighty…truly!*
– “6 By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, And all the host of them by the breath of His mouth. 7 He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap; He lays up the deep in storehouses. 8 Let all the earth fear the LORD; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. 9 For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.” – Psalms 33:6-9
The greatness of God Almighty doesn’t end with the world around us. This should be the starting point of our awe and wonder.
– “3 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, 4 What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him?” – Psalms 8:3-4
The finiteness of man is so clearly visible, yet man is so unwilling to acknowledge it. Oh, if only we had the eyes to see, and ears to hear…
– “16 When I applied my heart to know wisdom and to see the business that is done on earth, even though one sees no sleep day or night, 17 then I saw all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun. For though a man labors to discover it, yet he will not find it; moreover, though a wise man attempts to know it, he will not be able to find it.” – Ecclesiastes 8:16-17
May we seek the LORD, to help us see His greatness. May our eyes be opened to His power, and His greatness. May we always be in awe and wonder of the LORD God Almighty. May we always learn to worship Him, with all our hearts, seeking His glory, in all that we think, speak and do. Soli Gloria Deo!!!
"Could anyone ever count all the innumerable wonders which God brings about through his power and might?"
