Man thinks that there is none above him. We humans, have begun to believe that, we are gods unto ourselves, and we don’t need anyone. Yet, when we see the frailty, and the futility of, we human beings, we can’t but conclude that, we are finite, fragile, fumble, fail and fall with many things. We are actually sinking, deeper and deeper, into the quick-sand, and we don’t seem to be aware of it, at all. The only one who can and will help us is God. Yet, we don’t want to entertain any idea of a God who tell us, what to do and how to do. Yes, we want gods who will do what we tell them to do, and how to do. This again proves to the world, that man needs God, and that, man cannot solve the issues of life, nor give reasonable answers to the questions related.
Now a question for us. How would we respond to someone who betrays our trust, and rebels against us. Not just that, but actively pursues to fight against us, and wants to hit back, at every given opportunity. How would we deal with such a person? Wouldn’t we want to swiftly, and strongly, bring such a person to his justifiable end? This would be a reasonable thing to do. Don’t you think so?
However, when we see God, He dealt with us, not only kindly and mercifully, but had been generous in forgiving, and showered generously upon us, the fallen man, with His loving kindness. Oh what kind of a person should God be, to respond in such a manner, towards those who are His enemies? What kind of love is this? What kind of grace is this? What kind of mercy is this?
David, writing the Psalm 36, has these words for God, and His loving kindness towards us. It so aptly describes to us, the love and kindness of God.
– “5 Your mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. 6 Your righteousness is like the great mountains; Your judgments are a great deep; O LORD, You preserve man and beast. 7 How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. 8 They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, And You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures. 9 For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light. 10 Oh, continue Your lovingkindness to those who know You, And Your righteousness to the upright in heart.” – Psalms 36:5-10
Oh what God, is the God of the Bible? Are we not blessed to know this God? Yes, knowing Jesus is the biggest and the best blessing we can ever have. Even if there is no other blessing in our life, we would still end up, immeasurably blessed, and in need of nothing else. HalleluYah!!! Don’t you think so?
"One of the most profound demonstrations of God’s kindness is found in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross...He didn’t just teach us about love; he demonstrated it through his actions, ultimately sacrificing his life on the cross for our salvation...He didn’t wait for you to become perfect or deserving; he extended his grace to you as a free gift. And his grace never runs out for you."
