Today is the last Sunday of the year 2024. We have already seen 51 Sundays. What thoughts are running in our hearts and minds, as we prepare to go to the Church? What kind of attitude are our hearts filled with? What kind of words are on our lips, this morning, as we walk into the House of the LORD?
If we have seen 51 Sundays and are seeing the 51st, it simply means, we are healthy, or healthy enough, to get up, get dressed, and go to the Church. It means, we have enough energy, to go to the Church. It means, we have clothes good enough, to wear to the Church. It means, we can afford some form of transport, that can take us to the Church. All the above means, we have money enough on our hands, apart from buying food and other such essential needs. It means, we are better off, than many many people, in this world. Can we guess, how come we have all the above?
Most important of all, it simply means, we are alive today, and not dead. This can mean only one thing – the LORD had been good, gracious and merciful towards us, through all the 51 Sundays that are gone by, including the one today, which is the last Sunday, for this year. So what should be the thoughts, that must be running, in our hearts and minds? What words should be flowing out of our lips, this morning?
May Psalm 100, which is aptly titled, “A Song of Praise for the LORD’s Faithfulness to His People – A Psalm of Thanksgiving.” be the inspiration for us this LORD’s Day, as we remember God’s goodness and grace, through all the 52 Sundays, in the year 2024. Let us never forget that, we are, but a reflection of, God goodness and grace.
– “1 Make a joyful shout to the LORD, all you lands! 2 Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before His presence with singing. 3 Know that the LORD, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. 4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. 5 For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.” – Psalm 100
"To be grateful is to recognize the love of God in everything He has given us -- and He has given us everything. Every breath we draw is a gift of His love, every moment of existence is a grace, for it brings with it immense graces from Him."
