Love by virtue, cares for all, and is concerned about everyone. Love, in such a setting, has to be impartial in its nature, and its practice. This is true love. Such love is almost impossible to find in the fallen world that we live.
God is the epitome of love, because He is love. One of the traits that we see in God is, impartiality. He has no favourites, and He does not prefer one over the other. Since God is love in all its purity, He is absolutely impartial, in all its fairness and justice.
Partiality is equated by the holy and righteous God to the sin of injustice and unfairness. It is hated by God, and wants His children, and the chosen ones to, hate it too.
– “15 “You shall do no injustice in court. You shall not be partial to the poor or defer to the great, but in righteousness shall you judge your neighbour.” – Leviticus 19:15
– “1 My brothers, show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory.” – James 2:1
– “21 To show partiality is not good, Because for a piece of bread a man will transgress.” – Proverbs 28:21
– “16 And I charged your judges at that time, ‘Hear the cases between your brothers, and judge righteously between a man and his brother or the alien who is with him. 17 You shall not be partial in judgment. You shall hear the small and the great alike. You shall not be intimidated by anyone, for the judgment is God’s…” – Deuteronomy 1:16-17
– “19 You shall not pervert justice. You shall not show partiality, and you shall not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and subverts the cause of the righteous. 20 Justice, and only justice, you shall follow, that you may live and inherit the land that the LORD your God is giving you.” – Deuteronomy 16:19-20
– “16 Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no longer stubborn. 17 For the LORD your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who is not partial and takes no bribe. 18 He executes justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the sojourner, giving him food and clothing. 19 Love the sojourner, therefore, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt.” – Deuteronomy 10:16-19
– “34 So Peter opened his mouth and said: “Truly I understand that God shows no partiality, 35 but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him. 36 As for the word that he sent to Israel, preaching good news of peace through Jesus Christ (he is Lord of all),” – Acts 10:34-36
When the Pharisee asked Jesus, “Who is my neighbour?” Jesus took the much hated Samaritan as the hero. OUR LOVE FOR ANYONE and ANYTHING SHOULD NOT MAKE US BLIND to TRUTH, JUSTICE and EQUALITY. When we rise above our love for someone and something, and see truth, justice and equality with impartial eyes, and apply them without any favour or prejudice, then we truly love God, and are His children, Chosen by Him, who accurately are imitating and reflecting the LORD, and His character, in our lives. This is loving God with all our heart, soul and might – Deuteronomy 6:5.
– “5 But because of your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed. 6 He will render to each one according to his works: 7 to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, he will give eternal life; 8 but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury. 9 THERE WILL BE TRIBULATION and DISTRESS for EVERY HUMAN BEING WHO DOES EVIL, the JEW FIRST and ALSO the GREEK, 10 but GLORY and HONOUR and PEACE for EVERYONE WHO DOES GOOD, the JEW FIRST and ALSO the GREEK. 11 FOR GOD SHOWS NO PARTIALITY.” – Romans 2:5-11
Even so, the LORD help us, to be impartial, because love is, just and fair. Love, cannot be partial, because, LOVE HAS NO FAVOURITES just as the LORD our Creator and Redeemer.
"Because God is impartial, we as Christians must be impartial too. People are prone to treat others differently based upon external criteria such as looks, possessions, or social status, but God is utterly impartial. He never shows favouritism and always judges righteously."
