The sacrifice on the cross is a reflection of ‘Love in Action.’ “”For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”” – Jn 3:16,17
The sacrifice on the cross, also reveals, our helplessness and hopelessness. We can’t help ourselves, nor is there anyone else, who could help us.
At such a time, the LORD against whom we rebelled, came forward to help us out of His love. He suffered from the moment He was born, till He gave up His spirit on the cross.
This should move us to be eternally grateful to God…””Astonished Gratitude”” as Wright puts it. Never ever forget what God had done. Never ever stop being grateful to God.
