Trust is a very precious thing. We trust many people in our lives. Also, we don’t trust many people. With some, we are hesitant to trust. With others, we don’t know whether to trust, or not to trust. All kinds of permutations and combinations operate in human relationships, when it comes to trusting and depending upon people.
When it comes to the LORD Jesus, the God of all creation, the LORD God Almighty, the God of the Bible, we don’t need to have any such apprehensions. The LORD is both trustworthy, and dependable. Yes, He is absolutely trustworthy, and totally dependable.
– “19 “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” – Numbers 23:19
The LORD our Creator and our Redeemer is no man that we should have any doubts, questions and apprehensions. He is no carved image, made by human hands, and without life. He is not flesh and blood like you and me, to break the promise because, it is inconvenient and uncomfortable.
– “29 And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he is not a man, that he should repent.” – 1 Samuel 15:29
God Almighty, the LORD of all creation is unlike anyone comparable – He is trustworthy, and also dependable. There is no one else like our LORD, who truly cares for us, and our welfare.
– “8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. 10 “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater, 11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” – Isaiah 55:8-11
We, on the other hand are utterly untrustworthy and undependable. Despite our fickleness and waywardness, we can be assured of God’s care for us. He goes to great lengths to be kind, gracious and merciful towards us. Therefore to Him alone belongs all glory, honour and praise…and rightfully so.
– “1 Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, But to Your name give glory, Because of Your mercy, Because of Your truth.” – Psalms 115:1
May we never cease to praise, thank and worship God, for all His goodness, grace, mercy and faithfulness towards us. We are alive, and not destroyed, because of God and His love for us. May we realise this as quickly as possible, and praise God and thank Him, all the days of our lives. For praise, thanks, and worship, rightfully belongs to God, and God alone. He alone is rightfully worthy, and He alone is rightfully deserving all of it. Even so, the LORD help us, to praise, thank and worship our LORD, all the days of our lives.
"When men worship Jesus Christ, they do not fall at his feet in broken submission, but in wondering love. A man does not say, ‘I cannot resist a might like that.’ He says, ‘Love so amazing, so divine, demands my life, my soul, my all.’ A man does not say, ‘I am battered into surrender.’ He says, ‘I am lost in wonder, love, and praise.’"
