The love of God is clearly visible to us in the way He cares for the fallen world. It speaks of God’s heart. The finest of all examples is found in John 3:16. We see the heart of God also in Psalm 103:1-6. These verses should help us know and understand our God better.
– “1 Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! 2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: 3 Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, 4 Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, 5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. 6 The LORD executes righteousness And justice for all who are oppressed.” – Psalm 103:1-6
As continuation of our series on sanctification, let us look at the following words from the above passage – “WHO SATISFIES YOUR MOUTH WITH GOOD THINGS SO THAT YOUR YOUTH IS RENEWED LIKE THE EAGLE’S.” What words of comfort and joy it is to someone who is in want. The LORD is the One “WHO SATISFIES OUR MOUTH WITH GOOD THINGS” and God just does not stop at that, He blesses us – “SO THAT OUR YOUTH IS RENEWED LIKE THE EAGLE’S.”
We see the heart of God and His deep interest and concern about our physical and material needs. The LORD SATISFIES OUR MOUTH WITH GOOD THINGS, and then goes on to RENEWE our STRENGTH LIKE that of THE EAGLE. HalleluYah! All glory to LORD!!!
Now, as God’s disciples and His ambassadors, how are we caring for the needs of those who are poor and needy? Donour hearts move to care for those in need? This care and concern for those in need reflects the tenderness of our hearts, and demonstrates its compassion. Such a compassion is a clear and unmistakable sign of our transformation, from being a greedy and selfish fallen human being, to a disciple of the LORD, who thinks, speaks and does things just like his Master, the LORD Jesus Christ. We demonstrate Christ-likeness, when we care for the needs of those around us. This is possible only when God the Holy Spirit is doing His work of sanctification is us. How are we faring, dear brothers and sisters?
Let us seek the LORD and desire with all our hearts, a heart that is transformed and a heart that desire to do what He does. Even so, the LORD help us.
"...the LORD Himself continually fills His people with every good gift, bringing deep, satisfying refreshment that restores inner vitality. Like eagles catching fresh currents, we are lifted by His grace to live energetically and purposefully, confident that His goodness will never run dry."
