The heritage of all who live godly lives, is truly a blessed life. Many times, the people of the world have a wrong opinion about a good and blessed life. Hence people believe, to live in the God ordained way is dull, boring, uninteresting and unexciting. If only they could know the difference between what is good for us, and what is not, then they would see the whole thing differently.
The LORD God Almighty, speaking in His written Word, has these words for us to consider. This helps us know what is the good and the blessed life; and what do we do, when wanting to walk on such a path. This is the rich heritage of all who live godly lives – “THEY SHALL BE BLESSED.”
– “3 TRUST in the LORD, and DO good; Dwell in the land, and FEED on His faithfulness. 4 DELIGHT yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. 5 COMMIT your way to the LORD, TRUST also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. 6 He SHALL bring forth your righteousness as the LIGHT, And your JUSTICE as the NOONDAY. 7 REST in the LORD, and WAIT PATIENTLY for Him; DO NOT FRET because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. 8 CEASE from anger, and FORSAKE wrath; Do not fret—it ONLY causes harm. 9 For evildoers SHALL BE CUT OFF; BUT those who wait on the LORD, THEY SHALL INHERIT the earth. 10 For yet a LITTLE WHILE and the wicked shall be NO MORE; Indeed, you will look carefully for his place, But it shall be NO MORE. 11 But the MEEK SHALL INHERIT the earth, And SHALL DELIGHT THEMSELVES in the ABUNDANCE of PEACE.” – Psalm 37:3-11
As we can see, the above verses contain the essence of all the blessedness of a godly life. Godly life is God ordained. It is good for us. It will surely and certainly leads us to heavenly blessings, in the true sense of the word. When we earnestly and sincerely seek the LORD, and desire to live for Him a godly life, we will see everything from a heavenly and eternal perspective. When we begin to see it that way, we being to think, speak and do things differently from the rest of the world. This is when the LORD begins to walk with us, and our lives begin to enjoy His blessings. Let us look at the list of our responsibilities, that we can draw from the above verses, and the LORD’s blessings that are made available for all who do them.

This sums it all up. Let me repeat it again, only to emphasise the importance of our faithful obedience to God, which would lead to the godly blessings. Ones heart has to be totally captivated by the LORD Jesus, and should desire wholeheartedly that which pleases our Master and Saviour. We should want to walk in all His way, all the days of our life, despite all the struggles, storms and sufferings. When this is settled in our hearts, we will see the hand of God resting upon us, and upon all that is close to our hearts. Therefore, let us seek the LORD, and walk joyfully in all His ways. Even so, the LORD help us.
"There cannot be evil tidings to the soul which has fixed its trust in the Lord…. If tidings were to come to you today of disease, loss, bereavement, death, they could not be evil if your heart dares to maintain a fixed trust in God; for such trust robs death of its sting, and the grave of its victory. I cannot understand, but I can trust Him."
