Today is the beginning of another new month. This means we have successfully made through the last month. Many times in the midst of living our lives, we do not realise how the LORD Jesus is taking care of us, meeting our needs and faithfully and unfailingly protecting us from every harm and danger. Many times we do not even realise the dangers that are lurking around us. The LORD Jesus had been faithful, gracious and merciful towards us, and that is why we are seeing another first day of another new month. HalleluYah!!!
What can we give to the LORD Jesus for all His goodness and grace? Honestly speaking, there is nothing we can give in return for all what we have received from the LORD Jesus. However, we can and should express our heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the LORD Jesus, for all His goodness and grace. This is precisely what the David, the psalmist is attempting in Psalm 95:1-3
– “1 O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. 2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. 3 For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.” – Psalm 95:1-3
The LORD God Almighty, the LORD Jesus Christ, our Redeemer and our Master, who is the great God and the King above all who claim to hold power over our lives, in this world deserves our praise and our worship. Therefore, we are called to…
– SING UNTO the LORD
– MAKE a JOYFUL NOISE to the ROCK of OUR SALVATION
– COME BEFORE HIS PRESENCE WITH THANKSGIVING
– MAKE a JOYFUL NOISE UNTO HIM with PSALMS
The rest of the Scriptures encourage us, in line with Psalm 93:1-3, to be grateful and thankful to the LORD our God for all His goodness and grace towards us.
– “1 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. 2 Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. 3 Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.” – Psalm 100:1-3
– “30 I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving. 31 This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bullock that hath horns and hoofs.” – Psalm 69:30-31
– “17 For the LORD your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality nor takes a bribe.” – Deuteronomy 10:17
– “1 Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph! 2 For the LORD Most High is awesome; He is a great King over all the earth.” – Psalm 47:1-2
– “23 Sing to the LORD, all the earth; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day. 24 Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples. 25 For the LORD is great and greatly to be praised; He is also to be feared above all gods.” – 1 Chronicles 16:23-25
How do we approach the LORD Jesus Christ every morning? How do we reflect upon each month that has passed us by? What thoughts dominate our hearts and minds when we come to the presence of our LORD? “LET US COME BEFORE HIS PRESENCE WITH THANKSGIVING” not just at the beginning of a new month, but all through the month…all through the year…and all through our lives. For our God, the LORD Jesus Christ is worthy of all our praise and worship. Even so, the LORD help us.
"[Let us realise]...the importance of approaching God with a heart full of gratitude...The act of entering God's presence with thanksgiving reflects a recognition of His sovereignty and provision...this aligns with the...teaching in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, which encourages believers to give thanks in all circumstances."
