BE GLAD, REJOICE, AND SHOUT FOR JOY

If ever there is an antidote for all that plagues a Christian, it is found in Psalm 32:11. This is not some magic potion that makes everything good. It is not man’s brilliance that had found such an antidote. David, the psalmist, out of his own experience of walking with the LORD had discovered this antidote available only in the LORD, which any and every child of God needs very much.
– “11 Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.” – Psalm 32:11

David is encouraging the reader to “BE GLAD, REJOICE, AND SHOUT FOR JOY” – with the key being our FAITH “IN THE LORD” and in our OBEDIENCE to the LORD – “YE RIGHTEOUS” and “UPRIGHT IN HEART.”

Being righteous and upright is not being perfect and sinless. It is to seek the LORD with all our hearts, and our desire to obey Him, with all our heart, mind and soul. This is not some license to sin, or continue in sin. It has all to do with our heart, and what we desire sincerely. It has to do with how we are growing up in the LORD…even if it is slow and small. It is like a child when he is small, would falter and fall many times…yet the parents wouldn’t mind it, as long as the child is slowly but steadily learning to stand and walk as he is supposed to.
– “Having been a Christian for a half-century, I must honestly admit I’m not perfect. In fact, the older I’ve become, the more aware I’ve become of just how much I am “beset with weakness” (Hebrews 5:2), which also seems to be the self-evaluation of the most mature Christians I’ve known. I have never met a perfect Christian…When it comes to the obedience of faith, God is concerned more with how our faith in him is growing than with how outwardly impressive and scrupulously observed our acts of obedience appear. “ – Jon Bloom

Our FAITH in the LORD Jesus Christ, and our OBEDIENCE to all what He is asking from us, holds the key to a life of blessing. This has been the way since man was created. This is the way God wants us to walk upon always. 

Let us not be disturbed or troubled by anything that we may be facing. This is precisely why the psalmist is encouraging us to “BE GLAD, REJOICE, AND SHOUT FOR JOY.” However, let us never ever forget that, such gladness, such rejoicing and such joy is possible only “IN THE LORD” and not anywhere else, nor in anyone else. Let us therefore walk in FAITH and OBEDIENCE to the LORD. If ever we falter and fail, let us sincerely seek the grace and mercy of the LORD Jesus, to forgive us of our sins, and to help us live for Him and His glory. Even so the LORD help us.
