HOW THEN SHOULD WE PRAY? – “PRAY FOR THE WILL OF GOD TO BE DONE”

The will of God is supreme for any Christian. We are called to obey the LORD by SEEKING His will, and DOING His will. Praying for the will of God to be done in our lives is an important lessons to learn, as a Christian. It is always God’s will and His desire that takes precedence over our wishes, out dreams and our desires, however legitimate they may seem to us.
– “14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” – 1 John 5:14

God answers our prayers because we are seeking to do His will in our lives; and are willing allowing God to use is and our lives to get His will done in lives of others around us, and in this world. Let us look at few more Bible verses for us to gain a clearer and deeper insight into PRAYING FOR THE WILL OF GOD TO BE DONE IN OUR LIVES. 
– “22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.” – 1 John 3:22
– “7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.” – John 15:7-8
– “14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.” – 1 John 5:14-15

PRAYING FOR THE WILL OF GOD TO BE DONE IN OUR LIVES simply means doing what God wants, and doing it in His way, and doing it at His time. If we have notice, while praying for and doing the will of God, there is no room for us and our will. It is not what I want, but what God wants. This is praying for God’s will to be done. The LORD Jesus’ prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane is a very fine example of this heart, mindset and attitude.
– ” 34 Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch.” 41 And He was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw, and He knelt down and prayed, 42 saying, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for You…if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.” 43 Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him. 44 And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Let us know and realise that, PRAYING FOR GOD’S WILL TO BE DONE IN OUR LIVES HAS A PRICE TO PAY. ARE WE WILLING TO PAY?
When we pray for the will of God to be done in our lives and through our lives, we are automatically committing ourselves to pay the price for the will of God to be done in and through our lives. Are we willing to pay that price? Are we  prepared to pay the price as we pray to seek and do the will of God in our lives? Let us remember this always that, the will of God and its implementation is supreme for any Christian. 
– We are called to obey the LORD to seek His will.
– We are commanded to do His will wholeheartedly.
– If in doing the will of God, we encounter problems, we should count it all joy.
– If in doing the will of God, we face troubles and trials, we should be thankful to God that we are counted worthy to face them.
– If in doing the will of God, we are pushed into struggles and storms, then we should be happy that we are walking the path on which many a child of God in the past had walked faithfully and obediently.
– If in doing the will of God, we have to lose our health, wealth and relations, we should count it as a rare privilege given to the chosen few to suffer such things for our LORD and Redeemer Jesus Christ.
– If in doing the will of God, we are called to lay down our lives, then we should count it an honour of the highest order to pay the ultimate price for our faith in the LORD Jesus Christ.

Let us EARNESTLY and SINCERELY seek the LORD Jesus Christ, and PRAY FOR THE WILL OF GOD TO BE DONE IN OUR LIVES wholely and happily. Even so, the LORD help us.
