Oh who can describe the goodness and the graciousness of the LORD our God? Even the eloquent of us would fail to begin describing the gracious LORD! Any and every attempt on our part at describing God would utterly fail. How can a finite being attempt to describe an infinite Being? It is an insurmountable impossibility. “OH THE EVER SO GRACIOUS LORD” thank You, thank You and thank You.
The graciousness of the LORD Jesus is seen in the way He deals with the frail, foolish, fragile and fallen human beings. Oh how GRACIOUS is the LORD God Almighty towards each of us? Would any of us be able to stand where we are today, if it were not for the grace and mercy of the LORD Jesus Christ?
Have we lately looked into hearts? Have we in the recent past contemplated on where our LORD found us? What was our situation, when He found us? In what physical, mental, emotional and spiritual state we were in, when our LORD came seeking for us?
Oh the Good Shepherd, He left the 99 to come seeking for ‘ME’ the “one” lost sheep. He found me hanging by a thread. Oh who can describe the love that compelled the Shepherd of our souls to forego the much needed “rest” of the night, and come in search of a wayward and rebellious sheep? Oh what kind of love should it be dear friends!!! Oh the love of my LORD Jesus. Oh the “Hound of Heaven” who came “hunting” for me…
– “I fled Him, down the nights and down the days; / I fled Him, down the arches of the years; / I fled Him, down the labyrinthine ways / Of my own mind; and in the midst of tears / I hid from Him, and under running laughter.” – Francis Thompson – “The Hound of Heaven”
The LORD Jesus not only sought for us, and found us; but had been patient with us, ever since He made us His children, His own people. Oh what grace and what mercy should it be that cared to continue to love people who are utterly unlovable? Is this not our story dear brothers and sisters? Oh what MERCY and GRACE that should love us like this?
Knowing the LORD his God, David the psalmist declares with humility and care that the LORD will take care of his flaws, and will correct them in His time and in His ways. Is this not our story too?
– “8 The LORD will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O LORD, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.” – Psalm 138:8
Only when we truly experience God’s GRACE and MERCY in our personal lives, can we truly begin to understand who God actually is, His heart and His love for us – a selfless, unconditional, and sacrificial love that seeks the best for others without expecting anything in return. Have we experienced this love of the Hound of Heaven? He doesn’t give up on us, but hounds us till we are exhausted running away from Him, and then He begins to gently rectify us, and ever so lovingly restore us to the image of His Son, our LORD Jesus Christ. SOLI DEO GLORIA!!!
"Because Jehovah’s lovingkindness endures forever, every man on whom His shaping Spirit has begun to work, or His grace in any form to bestow its gifts, may be sure that no exhaustion or change of these is possible."
