July 17, 2026The one who write Psalm 104 has an important instruction for us this morning in verse thirty-three.
– “33 I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.” – Psalm 104:33
The Psalmist is declaring what he would do. He is also declaring what is the most important thing in his life. He is loudly and clearly stating that he would do this not just a day or two; nor on some special occasions; nor when he feels like doing it.
The Psalmist is shouting out loud his heart and his mind. His intentions are made crystal clear. He wants to “…sing unto the LORD” as long as he lives. What a choice isn’t it?
A lifetime is not only long, but also has many ups and downs. Life is never the same all through our journey. It keeps in changing. Some days are great; some days are wonderful; some days are amazing; some days are terrible, bad, painful and sad. Life is a mixture of all kinds of times and days.
In the face of such an unpredictable life, the Psalmist takes a very rigid and inflexible stand – “33 I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.” It is not easy, nor is it simple and straightforward. Yet the writer is determined to praise his LORD and God all the days of his life.
How about us? Let us pause and think about ourselves. Let us evaluate ourselves, if we are praising God. Let us check the quality of our praise. Let us estimate the duration of our praise to our God. Herein is the key to a life of happiness and peace – It is only in praising the LORD we find all what we have been seeking Him.
Let us then begin to praise our God, just like the Psalmist, all the days of our lives…yes, all the days of our lives. Let us declare out loud, “I WILL SING YOUR PRAISES…FOREVER MORE” Even so the LORD help us.
