The LORD God Almighty, who is our Creator has great interest in us and our welfare. This is abundantly clear from what is written in the Bible, the Word of God. We can see the love, care and concern of the LORD right from the creation account; from the response of God towards Adam and Eve, and the subsequent plan of action to redeem the fallen man. What is abundantly clear is that God loves us and cares for us.
– “16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” – John 3:16-17
– “6 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:6-8
– “10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 11 And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.” – Romans 5:10-11
– “9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” – 1 John 4:9-10
The people who have come to realise this great love, care and concern of YAHWEH towards His people, write thus in the following words from Psalms…
– “11 The LORD takes pleasure in those who fear Him, In those who hope in His mercy.” – Psalm 147:11
– “18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear Him, On those who hope in His mercy, 19 To deliver their soul from death, And to keep them alive in famine.” – Psalm 33:18-19
Dear brothers and sisters, we are called to FEAR God and HOPE in His mercy. When we do so, as we walk faithfully and obediently after His ways, then we see the invisible hand of God guiding us and leading us in all the ups and downs of our life. This knowledge that God cares for us, and is deeply concerned about us and our welfare should strengthen us and encourage us to prodd on the Narrow Path. Even so the LORD Jesus help us.
"God delights in people who recognize His holiness, submit to His authority, and order their lives in obedience to Him. Such fear is not dread that drives sinners away from God, but reverent awe that turns them from sin and leads them to worship...Human strength, military power, and outward accomplishment do not win God’s favor; He regards the humble heart that honours His name. The fear of the LORD remains the beginning of wisdom because it places God in His rightful place and man in his dependent position before the Creator and Judge."
