Prayer is an essential and integral part of a Christian’s life and our growth. Praying for the needs of others is a very special aspect of a Christian’s prayer. Praying for the needs of others involves love, care, concern and sacrifice…all this without expecting anything in return… without any selfish interest or an ulterior motive.
We find King David praying for someone in Psalms 20:1-4…“1 The LORD HEAR THEE in the day of trouble;
the name of the God of Jacob DEFEND THEE;
2 SEND THEE HELP from the sanctuary, and STRENGTHEN THEE out of Zion;
3 REMEMBER all THY offerings, and ACCEPT THY burnt sacrifice; Selah.
4 GRANT THEE according to thine OWN heart, and FULFIL all THY counsel.”
How wonderful it is for us to read such a heart-warming prayer of David for someone whom he knows and cares for. We have such a fine example to emulate. Praying for others is such a healthy tonic for our growth.
Why not we pray for someone who is in need of God’s intervention in their lives? Let us not delay. Let us do it right now.
"It is really beautiful when someone prays for you without you knowing. It’s the highest form of respect and care."
