The Bible talks about calling God on numerous occasions. It primarily is, in the context of we being in trouble, and asking or seeking God to help us. It simply indicates to us, the privilege we have, to call upon the LORD God Almighty for help, in times of need. What a privilege!!!
David, on so many occasions, had to call upon the LORD, for all kinds of reasons. We see a mention of it in 2 Samuel 22:4 – “4 I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies.” How wonderful!!!
The privilege, that God bestowed on us, also indicates the intimacy and liberty, that is made available to us, the unworthy people, who rightfully deserve a cold response, and a closed door. Don’t you think so?
Let us be, ever so thankful and grateful to the LORD, for His goodness and grace, in all His dealings with us. He hasn’t dealt with us in the way we deserve it. Rather, has been merciful and benevolent towards us. How then should we understand His desire, that we call Him, in our need? Isn’t that being kind to us?
"3 Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known." "15 When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him." "24 Before they call I will answer; while they are yet speaking I will hear."
