When it comes to God and money, we think in two possible ways. One, God as someone who is a demanding dictator, exercising authority and control over us. Two, God as a utility machine to which we run to get what we want.
First one is driven by fear, and the second is driven by an intention to manipulate God, to get our greed fulfilled.
Don’t throw your money and time at God. He doesn’t need it. Giving to God gives a glimpse of your heart, and where your loyalties lie.
Remember, the LORD said, we can’t serve two masters – God and money.
