The Titanic was considered as an unsinkable ship. Tragically it sank on its maiden voyage. The irony is unmistakable. The unsinkable ship, sank on its very first journey. What does it tell us? The best of human efforts are, at best, sincere efforts, but there are no guarantees.
The world is sinking. There is no doubt about it. The Biblical prophecy is clear. The signs are clear from the scientists. It is as though the science is confirming all that the Bible is saying…one after the other.
When a ship is sinking, only a fool tries to prevent it from sinking. A wise man plunges into saving as many people as possible. As a Christian we know the fate of the world. It is sealed, and it is heading towards destruction. Are we in the business of saving the sinking fellow passengers? This is our primary reason for existence.
Do our colleagues at the office see us as Christians? Do our friends know that we follow the LORD Jesus Christ? Do they see any difference between them and us? Do they know about Jesus and the salvation He offers?* Theses questions, though pointed, indicate where we stand. *Are we mere bystanders, or are we proclaiming the good news, which can save them?
“15 And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” – Mark 16:15
“9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” – 1 Peter 2:9
"I am on my King's business. If I am not on that business, I have no business to be here."
