Each of us have, I am sure, certain Bible verses that are at the top of our minds. They act like a healthy warning sign and an alarm, lest we forget what is important and urgent in our lives as a Christian. One such verse is found in James 4:17 – “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.“
The LORD God speaks to each of us, in so many different ways about His desire for us, and what He wants us to do with our life. He, out of His love for us, has redeemed us by His blood, and has gifted our life back to us, that we live for Him as His children and ambassadors – *”15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.” – 2 Corinthians 5:15; also read Matthew 5:16; 2 Corinthians 5:17-21.
We know what is good and right through the Word of God. We know what is the heart’s desire of our Saviour. We know what the people need…for we ourselves were once in darkness, and now are in the Light – “8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light…” – Ephesians 5:8. Therefore, let us make ‘living for our LORD,‘ the only aim of our lives.
To be honest, all that we have is actually the gift of God. Now that we are Christians, He owns us double. Don’t you think so? So it should come but natural for us to be His witnesses, and spread His light. Let us all, therefore, pause for a moment, and think about what our LORD is asking us to do in our life, and with our life…and do it for Him.
