Life, whether one likes it or not, is mundane, ordinary and unglamorous. This is the reality of life. The quicker we realise this, the better it is for us and our benefit. “9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. 10 Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.” – Ecclesiastes 1:9-10.
We all want our life to be filled with glitter and glamour. Of course, who doesn’t want it? However, if life were full of exciting things, it would get boring and unexciting pretty soon. This is also a reality of life. “8 All things are full of labour; [wearisome] man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.” – Ecclesiastes 1:8.
Let us remember the words of our LORD, this will certainly give us a proper perspective about life and living – “15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.” – Luke 12:15.
"Life is wasted if we do not grasp the glory of the cross, cherish it for the treasure that it is, and cleave to it as the highest price of every pleasure and the deepest comfort in every pain. What was once foolishness to us—a crucified God—must become our wisdom and our power and our only boast in this world."
