Praising God is one of the best thing we can do. Rather, *praising God is something, that we must be doing, all the time.* David, the Psalmist, pens one of the finest words in praise of God in Psalm 145…
– “1 I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever. 2 Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever. 3 Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.” – Psalms 145:1-3
David writes…
– “1 I will extol thee, my God, O king;”
– “I will bless thy name for ever and ever. “
– “2 Every day will I bless thee;”
– “I will praise thy name for ever and ever.”
The Reason for David to praise God is…
– “3 Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised;”
– “His greatness is unsearchable.”
For David, YAHWEH is his GOD, and his KING. David sees the God Almighty as GREAT, and that, God is GREATLY to be PRAISED. David perceived that, God’s greatness is UNSEARCHABLE!!!
David found his reasons for praising the LORD God Almighty, the God of all creation. For David, God is the SOURCE of all good things, and God is the GIVER of all good things…all good things flow from God’s hands.
What about us? Did we find out reasons? Unless we find our own reasons, we cannot praise God meaningfully. For praise cannot go forward on borrowed thoughts and ideas. They have to be based on our personal experience, and our personal realisation of God, His goodness and His grace.
"Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heav'nly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost."
