For many, school is a scary place. Not so much because it is a bad place, but because of certain subjects that we have to study. Some are terrified of mathematics, science and some other subjects in school. For some others, they just love those very subjects, and for them, it is a piece of cake.
Strange as it may seem, life is much like the school and the subjects, we are ‘compelled’ to study. Whether we like them or not, we have to study those subjects, write our exams and over and above all, clear them to go to the next class.
The world outside, which we are ‘compelled’ to live in, throws at us, all kinds of challenges at us. Many times, we are caught in the whirlwinds of life, tossed to and fro, and in all directions, by the storms that we encounter, and we may not be sure how to overcome them. The only way forward is, to brace ourselves, much like the school, face them, and put in our best efforts, to overcome them, believing that the LORD will help us.
Paul has some encouraging words for all of us, who are struggling at storms, and trying to survive through them. “13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” “8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness…” – Philippians 4:13; 2 Corinthians 12:8-9
Let us learn to face all the storms and struggles in our lives, knowing fully well, that the LORD is with us, and we can assured of His goodness and grace, to guide us through it all. Our confidence and our courage is in the LORD our God, who says, “10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” – Isaiah 41:10
"We may be as timid by nature as the coneys, but God is our refuge; we are as weak by nature as bruised reeds, but God is our strength."
