The Bible says that, the LORD is faithful. The meaning of the word “FAITHFUL” is “steadfast in affection or allegiance; loyal; firm in adherence to promises or in observance of duty; conscientious.” God is much more than that, especially, towards us.
God is referred in the Bible, as the One who doesn’t change. He is the same, yesterday, today and forever – “6 “For I the LORD do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed.” “19 God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?” “8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” “8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” – Malachi 3:6; Numbers 23:19; Hebrews 13:8; Revelation 1:8.
Isn’t it wonderful to know that God is faithful? We may not truly understand and appreciate God’s faithfulness, in all its depth, and in all its glory. All through the human history, despite our rebellion, and our continued disobedience, God has shown Himself to be faithful towards the promises He made. The nation of Israel is a case in point, so also, each of us. If we truly begin to grasp the faithfulness of God towards us, we will fall at His feet, in worship and adoration.
As we pass through the advent season, let us pause to meditate the faithfulness of God. Oh, how blessed we are, by the faithfulness of God!!! Therefore, *O come, let us adore Him, CHRIST, the LORD!
"I know of nothing which so stimulates my faith in my Heavenly Father as to look back and reflect on His faithfulness to me in every crisis and every chilling circumstance of life. Over and over He has proved His care and concern for my welfare. Again and again I have been conscious of the Good Shepherd’s guidance through dark days and deep valleys."
