Good people go through a lot more bad, than bad people go through bad, is the general opinion from the ancient past. The opinion is that, the evil and wicked people seem to be immune to evil; on the contrary, despite all the evil that they do, they seem to flourish without any restraint. This is what Asaph felt about this long-standing dilemma…
– “3 For I was envious of the boastful, When I saw the prosperity of the wicked. 4 For there are no pangs in their death, But their strength is firm. 5 They are not in trouble as other men, Nor are they plagued like other men.” – Psalm 73:3-5
David says, we do not need to worry about the wicked, nor about their prosperity. The one who said, *”The LORD is my Shepherd”* also said…
– “39 But the salvation of the righteous is from the LORD; He is their strength in the time of trouble. 40 And the LORD shall help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked, And save them, Because they trust in Him.” – Psalm 37:39-40
The LORD is the One, who stands with those, who trust Him, and obey Him, in all what He is asking of us. It may appear as though, the evil person seems to prosper, for the moment. However, on closer scrutiny, the evil will always be defeated, and evil men will be brought to justice, by the LORD. Asaph, the one who wondered about the property of the wicked, goes on to say this in the same Psalm…
– “17 Until I went into the sanctuary of God; Then I understood their end. 18 Surely You set them in slippery places; You cast them down to destruction.” – Psalms 73:17-18
Better still, reading the whole of Psalm 73, is an excellent and insightful teaching, to learn.
It is always good to trust God. He is faithful and just. He is Omniscient, Omnipotent and Omnipresent. He never abandons those who trust Him. He never lets down those, who walk in His ways. He will always show Himself strong, on the side of those, who desire to walk in His ways.
HalleluYah!!! God stands with us, and for us, in all our struggles. Have no doubts about God’s faithfulness towards His sheep. Even so, the LORD help us to walk in His ways, despite all the obstacles thrown at us.
"8 We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— 10 always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. 11 For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh."
