The LORD God Almighty, when He wanted to create human beings, He said, “26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness…27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them…” – Genesis 1:26-28
Paul, writing to the Romans says, “11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.” – Romans 10:11-13.
The Word of God says, all have sinned and are equally fallen in the eyes of God our Creator. All of us… white, black, brown, yellow….any other colour, if there is any. Not just that, the LORD declares that we are all hopelessly lost, and that we all needed God Himself to come down, to save us from our sins, and the consequences of it – Romans 3:23; 6:23 and John 1:14.
It is good to note that, the way for our rescue and redemption is only through the Jesus Christ of Nazareth, who died on the cross of Calvary – Acts 4:12.
To all who accept this gift of grace, God gives them the right to called the children of God – John 1:12.
It is tragic and arrogant of the man to differentiate and discriminate people on the basis of colour, creed and gender. The choicest weapon of control and assertion of the perceived superiority has been the wilful implementation of discrimination, down through the ages, and in all cultures of the world.
Coming from a place and culture where caste discrimination is practiced, I can say, it is depravity of human beings at its best, and its stench is that of deaths Nd destruction. On 15 September, that is, today, in 1963, “a racially motivated bombing kills four African-American girls at the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama, USA. Ironically, the sermon that day was to be “The Love That Forgives,” based on Matthew 5:43-44.”
The Church is expected to be the representative of God, by being God’s ambassadors [2 Corinthians 5:20] and the salt and the light, in a decaying and dark world- Matthew 5:13-16. Sadly, the good people in the Church have been silent and mute spectators. Shamefully, a bad representatives of the LORD, who shed His blood, and paid the price for our rescue and redemption by His death on the cross. Let us not forget our call tonne the watchmen – Ezekiel 3:16-21.
People who discriminate fellow human beings are still dead in their sins. They belong not to the Light, but rather, to the darkness, and its prince, is their rightful owner. Such people, have nothing to do with the LORD, who created us all, and considers us all, equal and same – the fallen sinful human race, in need of forgiveness. Heave has no place for those who choose death and darkness, instead of light and life. Their fragrance, which truly is the rotten stench from the pits of hell, have no place in the Church, unless they repent and reject such inhuman and evil practice.
"Racism turns racial identity into an idol and the concept of race is defined as the ultimate and immutable defining characteristic of what it means to be human. This is the kind of idolatry that would fall under the condemnation of the Apostle Paul when he spoke of those who “exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator."
