FAR AND NEAR

Sight is a precious gift of God. It is amazing to see things with our own eyes. Seeing has another dimension to it. It is not the physical seeing, but seeing a certain point. Seeing the true nature and character of people. Seeing a problem in its entirety. Seeing a solution to the problem. All the above require from us a different kind of seeing. This is a must for everyone.

When we look at things from a distance they appear differently, than when we go closer and get to see it. Same is the case with people. Most of the times when we see people from afar, they appear different. We are low on facts, and high on our personal opinions, preconceived notions and prejudices. This is a possibility with everyone.

However, when we get closer to people, we get to know them personally, and a whole lot of things changes in our perspective and understanding. When the truth hits us, our personal opinions, preconceived notions and prejudices are adjusted, altered or shattered. Then, the reality emerges out it, and we see much more clearly, than from afar of. This doesn’t come automatically.

Let us train our vision to see beyond the obvious. Let us learn to look deeper and longer at facts. Let us seek the truth and not its shadow. So LORD help us.
