The LORD doesn’t leave us nor forsake us, says the Word of God in Hebrews 13:5; Genesis 28:15; Deuteronomy 31:6, 8; Joshua 1:5 – “He will never leave us nor forsake us.” Isn’t that comforting?
The same thought is echoed by the LORD Jesus Christ in John 14:27 – “27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
The disciples were confused and concerned with the words that Jesus spoke to them in John 12-17. They must have felt orphaned and abandoned, because they thought Jesus is leaving them, and going far way. Sensing their anxiety and worries, the LORD tells them, and to us even today, not to be worried and stressed. He was, is, and will always be with us. We have to trust Him and walk by faith. How wonderful!!!
Whatever we are facing today, is known to the LORD. He is not someone who abandons those who trust Him. He is no man to promise something, and forget it, or break the word. He is trustworthy, and someone who truly cares for us. Have no doubts about it. Have we forgotten the cross so soon, and all its shame and suffering that the LORD endured? Let us remember that always.
"Though our feelings come and go, God's love for us does not."
