Job was a good and righteous man – Job 1:1,8. He was severely tested because of his goodness. His testing was so intense that, Job lost everything he had, in one single day – Job 1:13-19. On top of that he lost his health, and subjected to intense physical, mental, emotional and familial trauma. He suffered like no other man in the history, and ever since, except, the LORD Jesus Christ. Job had to go through literal hell, because he was walking faithfully and obediently on the way of the LORD.
The lesson that we can learn is this – suffering can come to good people too. One may not be in the wrong, yet, there can be sufferings and storms knocking on our door. This realisation can help us brace ourselves to face such storms with strength and courage.
No suffering is pleasant. This is true. However, when sufferings knock us down, because of our desire to walk the way of the LORD, it ought to be counted as a good and positive thing. Such sufferings will help us, and it will be a blessing to us, and to others.
Therefore, “8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. 10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.” – 1 Peter 5:8-10
"Whatever pain, whatever sorrow, whatever loss we experience will be redeemed in heaven. There, when we see love face to face, all that has been separated or lost will be joined and reunited."
