God is good to us, and He has brought us out of darkness into His marvellous light. One generation back, may be two for some, we were in such difficult situation. Yet we see, the grace and the goodness of God shining upon us, so abundantly.
Moses, speaking to the people of Israel, asks them to look back and know who it is that has delivered them, and has given such blessings. Let us read in his own words from Deuteronomy 32:7 – “7 Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will shew thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee.”
Recounting the same, the sons of Korah write thus in Psalms 44:1,3 – “1 We have heard with our ears, O God, Our fathers have told us, The deeds You did in their days, In days of old…3 For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword, Nor did their own arm save them; But it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, Because You favoured them.”
Is this not true in our case too? It is the LORD who has been good, gracious and merciful towards us. All that we enjoy today, is because of God and God alone. Therefore, let us be ever so grateful and thankful to our LORD, and be obedient and faithful to Him, all through our lives. So God help us.
"What is wrong with Christians today is that we have the gifts of God but have forgotten the God of the gifts."
