When we observe Christian life in general, we observe that some of us are loaded heavily, while some others are not. It may prompt us to think, that such a thing is unfair. It may appear so, when we see it from human perspective. However, when we see from God’s perspective, it would look differently.
Many a child of God, in the past, were called by God, to carry heavier loads than the rest around them. Some of them are, Abraham, Moses, Job, the Prophets and the apostles. They were load lifters. Such a load is required, and it brings blessings to many.
The Word of God records through the words of Paul, to the Church at Corinth, in 1 Corinthians 10:13, that, “13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”
The words from the above verse, help us gain a perspective on the load that we may be carrying. Here under are a few points for us to remember, as we carry our load…
1- Everything that each of us are encountering or carrying in our lives, is common, normal and natural. It is not something uncommon or out of the blue.
2- God is faithful.
3- God will not let us be tested or stretched or lift loads beyond our capacity – our ability to withstand the weight.
4- Apart from that, God will make a provision for us to bear it, to resist it, to overcome it, and if need be, to escape it.
Nothing that is happening in our lives is, strange and accidental. The LORD has, in His wisdom, permitted it. May we count it all joy, when the LORD loads us with more than the others. May we count it an honour. May we seek the LORD to help us, to carry the weight in a manner, that would bring glory and honour to the LORD. Even so the LORD help us.
"He hath been before thee; he hath smoothed the way; he hath entered the grave, that he might make the tomb the royal bedchamber of the ransomed race, the closet where they lay aside the garments of labour, to put on the vestments of eternal rest. In all places withersoever we go, the angel of the covenant has been our forerunner; each burden we have to carry, has once been laid on the shoulders of Immanuel."
