Recently I read a quotation, which sums up very well, the Christian perspective of life, living and facing the challenges therein. The quote is anonymous, and it reads, “God did not make the Red sea to disappear. He made a way through it.”
The perspective that is presented in these few words are very sound biblical wisdom. The Word of God has numerous examples of such an attitude – Isaiah 43:1-3a. This is the way, we as Christians, ought to look at every challenge, that life throws at us.
Paul writing to the Church at Rome, which was facing persecution on many levels, has these words to say – “3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” – Romans 5:3-5. The lesson for us to learn is this – storms work FOR us, and IN us, for OUR benefit and for OUR blessing, though not very pleasant, and at times unbearably painful.
Life can be challenging. No one knows, nor can anyone predict, how it changes, and what twists and turns are ahead of us. There is no way one can prepare for such an uncertain roller-coaster life. However, it is good to know that the LORD has PURPOSED the storms, struggles and challenges to HELP us get strong, in our faith. This is possible only when we TRUST Him, and WALK in faith. Therefore, don’t worry about anything, when it is the LORD who is leading. It will be alright. Just trust God. Let us keep walking ahead.
"One of the most powerful, though difficult lessons we all need to learn, on our spiritual pilgrimage is that, even when bad things happen, and we do not understand why, we can trust God to be present, and working on our behalf."
