There are only two groups of people in the world, as we read in the Bible. “31 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. 33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.” – Matthew 25:31-33
There are no Americans, no British, no Chinese, no Dutch, no Ethiopians, no French…in the eyes of God. There are, and will be always, only two sets of groups, the sheep and the goats. In fact, the Word of God does not talk about some people as good, and some as bad people; or some good nations, and some are bad or evil nations.
There is no such category as good and bad people. The Written Word of God unambiguously states that, “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God” – Romans 3:10-12,23
“There are sinners and saved sinners.” – Romans 3:24 and John 1:12,13.
There are only the sheep and the goats – sheep being the saved sinners; while the goats beings fallen human beings, who have rejected the offer of God through the Redeemer – John 3:16-21
Why does the Word of God has only these two categories? God doesn’t see us through the narrow lenses of nationality, race, caste, colour, literate or illiterate, poor or rich, powerful or weak. This is how we wish to see ourselves. God sees us only as, and rightly so, the fallen and rebellious human beings, with no possibility whatsoever to self-reform ourselves – Romans 3:12; 6:23; 5:6-8,10. In simple words, the Bible talks about humans as enemies of God. The only lens through which God sees us is, through what we have done with His Son, and our Saviour, the LORD Jesus Christ.
– As Christians, and His disciples, God is teaching us, to practice such a living, where we identify ourselves as the children of God, and not by any other identity.
– Secondly, this position is not something that is our right, nor have we earned it on our own. Rather, this privileged position was graciously and mercifully conferred upon us, unmeritedly.
– There is nothing to be proud about ourselves, nor any reason to boast about our position in Christ. Rather, it should humble us, and make us to be gracious and merciful in our thoughts words and deed, in all our dealings with the world around us. Because this is how the LORD God Almighty dealt with us.
May we never forget about the sheep and the goats. May we learn to love everyone, just as God does. Let us learn live well for our LORD, as His ambassadors and disciples. Let us be His true representatives, in a world which is fast running towards self-destruction, out of hate, pride, arrogance and rebellion towards God.
"What you are is God's gift to you, what you become is your gift to God."
