“Do I need anything more?” is a question, most people ask themselves. May be, it should be counted as, one of the most frequently asked questions. What about us? Do we need anything more? Let us take time to look back, on the year 2023, on this, the last day of the year. What do we see?
Paul, writing to the Galatian Christians, says – “20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” – Galatians 2:20
All that Paul is writing in this verse, revolves around these twelve words – “…the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” In simple words, Paul is saying, “my life is happy and blessed, because of Christ Jesus our LORD, who out of His love for me, chose to die on the cross. Therefore, “…it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.”
Jesus Christ, the King of kings and LORD of lords, loved each of us, so much, that He willingly gave Himself up, as a sacrificial offering, for our redemption, and our restoration. Would anything else even come close to the love of God? No, nothing can ever; not even close. What more would one need, than the LORD Jesus Christ?
What a pity, many times, we trade the very Son of God, and His precious and priceless love, for some cheap imitations, which are fleeting, perishable and temporal. We seem to run after the things of this world, leaving behind the most precious and priceless thing, we already have – the LORD Jesus Christ.
As a Christian, and the disciples of the LORD, personally, I don’t have any needs for myself. All that I truly need, I already have. All that I have now, is all that I truly need. Hence, I have no prayers requests for any personal needs. If there is anything that is needed by me, it will be provided by my LORD – “32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” – Romans 8:32.
What then do I do? I will, most certainly, all my days, praise God with a thankful and grateful heart. More than anything, I will thank God, for His amazing love and mercy, and continue to praise His goodness and grace, which is constantly over my life. I made my choice. How about you my friend?
